Managing Our Moods
Recently, I came to realize the importance of managing my mood. How I am choosing to perceive things has a direct effect on the way that I go about my day. If I wake up allowing myself to let the negative have an influence on how I feel, I will respond in a negative way.
As I have discussed in previous blogs, we all have a choice in how we respond to things. I believe that by realizing the magnitude of our moods, we can more effectively make these choices. We must understand why we feel these ways in order to move forward and make good decisions that are beneficial to our wellbeing.
Today I am challenging you to take a look at the past week of your life. I know for me I had many times where I struggled to believe that I was capable of completing a project or task. I did not want to become a person who gave up, but there were definitely times that I did not do my best. I suppose this is why I feel so strongly about helping others who do not know where to turn; I have been there as well.
With that being said, I can only strongly emphasize how important it is to take control over how we are managing our moods. In my opinion, taking the high road and looking at the positives in every situation will not only make the situation more bearable, but you will come out stronger and with more confidence that you are an overcomer.
There is no better way to show others than through giving personal experience and examples. I have lived through many lonely times where I probably could have used the advice that I am giving now. If anything I want this advice to be taken to heart and put into practice because in my experience I know that these techniques can work.
I have included a link here to an article that gives a therapist's perspective on how to effectively manage your mood. I enjoyed reading this article and feel that it definitely does clarify how you can break down the ways in which you can control moods.
I hope that this post helps some of you who struggle with bringing yourself out of your bad moods, know that there is hope and help for you. Do not hesitate to reach out to someone for guidance, and have faith that everything will turn out for the best as long as you put in your best effort.
Until next time,
Anne
